Tampa, Florida - FHP troopers say 54-year-old Marcus Young apologized for kidnapping a woman friend from Ybor City. Young was stopped in his white Chevy Blazer on the on-ramp to I-275, after a motorist spotted the 35-year-old Panama City woman bound with duct tape in the back.
- Trooper Larry Coggins, Florida Highway Patrol
- “She was bound and gagged on her face and her hands, thrown in the vehicle, and threatened with violence if she tried to get help. ”
The woman's name is being withheld. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the attack. Investigators searched Young's house and collected bags of evidence troopers believe to be the woman's clothing and personal items. Neighbor Louise McColb says she heard commotion at the house earlier in the day.

Young's wife and stepson avoided cameras as they arrived home after his arrest.
The stepson says young and his wife are separated but living together and just learned of the kidnapping.
McColb says young was quiet and kept to himself except for nudist parties he threw in his back yard. Neighbors say young never stuck them as a violent man.
