Estranged husband arrested for kidnapping wife

Bradenton, Florida – The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports that they have taken a Bradenton man into custody after he took his wife for a ride against her will.

Deputies say the man who is separated from his wife went to her house and forced her to go in his truck after she refused to go to dinner with him Saturday afternoon.

When he stopped at a 7-11 to buy some cigarettes, she started screaming: "Help, my husband has kidnapped me."

Deputies say he then drove his wife to his home where he threatened to kill her and then himself, saying, "I'll show you who's boss. If I can't have you nobody can.""

He forced her back into the his truck and drove around for about an hour. When he let her go, she called 911.

The man was arrested several hours later on charges oif kidnapping and domestic battery.
