Pinellas Park, FL – A sign for a gentleman’s club in Pinellas Park is drawing complaints from some residents. It seems not everyone likes the sign of the nearly naked woman for the strip club Bottoms Up. The sign was put up about 2 weeks ago.
“I don’t think its offensive whatsoever” said Bottoms Up manager Ryan Thomas. He called the sign “tasteful.”
“It’s a beautiful girl; nobody can deny that, everybody seems to say that and if it’s so offensive how’s it been on every news thing, it’s been in the newspaper, everybody has done it.”
While the county has received a number of complaints about the sign, Carl Brody, a senior assistant county attorney says there is nothing they can do. He says the sign is in compliance with all county codes, including the adult use ordinance.
“Really the sign does not violate that because there’s not, the lady isn’t exposed to the point where she would cross our requirements.”
The woman featured in the sign tells Tampa Bay’s 10 News she loves the sign and doesn’t believe it’s offensive. Bottoms Up says they may soon put out bumper stickers with the same picture.
