NEW YORK (AP) — Rambo wouldn't be Rambo without those bulging muscles. And Sylvester Stallone is defending using human growth hormone to get them.

Stallone tells Time magazine "HGH is nothing. Anyone who calls it a steroid is grossly misinformed."

He says for him, testosterone is "so important for a sense of well-being when you get older.“ He suggests ”everyone over 40 years old would be wise to investigate it because it increases the quality of your life."

Stallone, who's 61, predicts "in 10 years it will be over the counter."

HGH has become a substance of great concern in major league baseball and other sports battling allegations of rampant doping.

Stallone's muscles are on display in the new “Rambo” movie which is now in theaters.
