St. Petersburg, Florida - A former Pinellas County teacher is in jail tonight charged with felony interference of child custody.

Officers say fifty-nine year old Thomas Anderson asked a 16 year old Seminole High School student to skip class with him. According to deputies, Anderson told administrators that he had a doctor's appointment.

Detectives say Anderson picked up the student off campus and drove her to his home at 12760 Indian Rocks Road. At the home, officers say Anderson had the teen massage his back, legs and chest.

Deputies say the victim then asked to be taken home and Anderson dropped the girl off near her home.

Anderson was arrested at his Largo home on Tuesday afternoon.
