
St. Petersburg, Florida - The first annual Dalí look-a-like competition took place Saturday night and was designed to celebrate the mustachioed Spanish surrealist's singular spirit and unique character.
According to organizers all entries were judged on originality, expression and theme. The in-person competition was judged on-site by Sterling Powell and the winners are: 3rd place: George Sherman; 2nd place: Dana Rizzuto and 1st place: Jose Luis Pawelek.
There was also a web portion of the competition and the video entries were judged in advance by celebrity filmmaker John Waters and the winners are:
3rd place: Michael Conway; 2nd place: Todd Ramquist; 1st place: Boo Ehrsam and Carla Kauffman.
The winners receive bragging rights as Dali's doppelganger, and prizes including a weekend getaway for two at a Celebrity Resort in Florida, a stay at the TradeWinds Resort on St. Pete Beach, a family membership to the museum and a $500 shopping spree at the museum's renowned store.
