Pasco County, FL-- Today the Suncoast Animal League raised money for the over 120 dogs rescued from a Tarpon Springs puppy mill.

Teresita Hughes is charged with 46 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after the league and the Pinellas Sheriff's Office seized the dogs from her home in April.

Deputies say most of the dogs were in small cages and were filthy. Many of the animals still need medical care so the league sponsored a car and dog wash to help cover the $140,000 of expenses.
