Dover, Florida - There's something special about a county fair.
Year after year, people come back to the Hillsborough County Fair for many reasons, but one stands out above the rest: It's always a family event.
You'll find kids running around, fluffy animals surrounded by hay, and the unbelievable craving of cotton candy and funnel cakes.

First of all, in this economy, it's inexpensive entertainment.
Five dollars will get you in, while children under eight get in free. Plus, there's no charge to park. In addition, seniors are charged only four dollars for admittance.
This fair has been in existence for 16 years, and when families and kids come together here, it's good, clean fun, organizers say.
"You know, we have all the glitzy events around the state, the big, big attractions, but when you get down to it, there's nothing that's more fun than coming out to the country fair, running through the sawdust, getting on the hay and having fun," Betty Jo Tompkins told us Friday night.
Tompkins is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hillsborough County Fair and loves the idea that families can come to this event and spend very little money to have fun.
In fact, on Sunday, November 9th, if you bring a church, synagogue, or mosque bulletin, you can get in for free on the last day of the fair, starting at noon.
This year is particularly special for the county fair since it now has a new home on 60 acres of land off of State Road 60 in Dover, just east of Brandon. This is the first year it does not have to move around yet again.
Tompkins added, "There's something for everybody and this is really our first full fair at this location. and we see it for grounds for fairs for many years to come."
