Tampa -- During the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the Oakland Raiders at Raymond James Stadium, Bucs running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams was helped off the field with a left knee injury.
In his post game news conference, Bucs Coach Jon Gruden said the knee that was injured was not the knee that was injured last season against the Carolina Panthers, ending his season.
Gruden says he fears it's a "very serious injury." He also said watching Williams get injured was the most sickening feeling he has experienced as a coach.
Ironically, it was the best run since his return this season. He took the ball around the right end, made a couple nice cuts, before gaining 28 yards on the play.
"If you go around the locker room will all hold him dear to our heart." Said Bucs Center, Jeff Faine. "You know, for the road he had to take to get back on the field, for us to see him going out in a similar play like he got hurt the first time... it's crushing".
The Bucs running back scored two touchdowns before leaving in the fourth quarter.
He was helped to the bench, where he pounded his hand in frustration and later limped to the locker room with help from team personnel. He finished with a season-best 78 yards rushing on 12 carries.
