Search for suspect after fleeing multiple-vehicle crash in Pinellas

Suspect runs from multi-car crash

LARGO, Fla. -- A man took off on foot after being involved in a multiple-vehicle crash that happened on US- 19 Frontage Rd. to Roosevelt Blvd. around 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016. The vehicle was traveling at 90 mph northbound on US-19 according to a Florida Highway Patrol Officer.

The FHP trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the car kept driving past. 

The car collided with a second vehicle at a very fast rate, causing the second vehicle to spin around and collide with a third vehicle, and the third vehicle collided with a fourth vehicle. The driver of the initial car that collided with the second vehicle took off on foot, running through a Carmax parking lot and into a Roadway Inn Hotel. That was the last area he was viewed in.

Largo and Pinellas County Deputies continue to search for the suspect. Helicopters and K-9 units are surrounding the perimeter in pursuant of the suspect. 

There have been no reported serious or critical injuries. 

The suspect was driving a 2015 Honda Civic. He is being described as a male with shoulder length braided hair, wearing a white tank top and blue jean shorts.
