Free CrossFit class in Sarasota

Want to learn more about what CrossFit is all about? Check out Seaward CrossFit at 9 a.m. on Saturday when they have a free community workout for all ages, skill and fitness level. Seaward CrossFit is located at 1490 Blvd. of the Arts, Sarasota, Florida 34236.

St. Pete Vintage Market

Brocante, the vintage market, is only open the first weekend of each month. Brocanteurs (vendors) spend their days hunting, picking, and salvaging the most unique finds available in the entire Southeast and each month, for only two days, they open their doors to the public.

Tampa Bay Comic Con

Get your geek on by attending this weekend-long celebration of all things geek. Events include panels discussing everything from zombie makeup to nerd yoga. There will also be stars from hit television shows such as Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead who will be on hand to answer questions and take pictures with fans. August Artwalk in Bradenton

Come to the Village of the Arts! A vibrant community of artists living and working together in Bradenton. Once a month they have a Artwalk where people can visit 30 galleries and 3 five-star restaurants all nestled in colorful 1920 cottages. Lasts from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Have a last hurrah with the family before school starts at this event at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be free children's activities, local bands, obstacle courses, zip line, local food vendors, craft beer and much more.

Preschool Palooza

Kids need concerts too! That's why Pasco and Hernando County are hosting a free children's concert at the Jerome Brown Community Center in Brooksville featuring Tommy Girvin aka "Mr. Tommy." Mr. Tommy's unique, interactive program gets children off their feet and encourages them to build their self-esteem and imagination.

Movie at sunset

Check out the sunset and a movie at Pier 60 in Clearwater. This Saturday they are showing Veronica Mars (PG-13). Movies start at dusk (around 8 or 8:30 p.m.) and viewers are allowed to bring blankets and low-lying chairs. Popcorn and sodas will be on-site to purchase.


Drink Beer, Save Wildlife. That's the theme at the Wazoo beer fest at Lowry Park Zoo. There are more than 275 beers and beverages to try from around the world. There's also food from Bay Area restaurants, live music and you get to party at a zoo!

Broadway Theater Project

Help the next generation of musical theater performers here in Tampa Bay. This weekend, talented young apprentices will show off everything they have learned at the USA Tampa's Theater 2. Audiences will also get to participate in a live auction with items any theater fan would love like sheet music from the Disney film "Frozen" signed by the songwriters or 4 tickets to the rehearsal for the finale of next season's "American Idol."
