Two men rescued near Anna Maria Island after boat takes on water

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Coast Guard rescued two men around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, after the 40-foot boat they were on started taking on water about 13 miles from Anna Maria Island.

The crew had engine trouble and could not take it anywhere when the boat started taking in water on the sides.

The Coast Guard used a dewatering pump to get rid of the water in the boat, towing the fishing boat and crew safely to A.P. Bells Seafood in Cortez.
