UPDATE: Woman shot, killed outside Tampa club

Tampa, Florida --UPDATE: Deputies have arrested the man they say shot and killed a woman outside a Tampa nightclub.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Dougie Glidden showed up at a hospital with cuts and bruises on his arms and fist.

They say he admitted to getting pepper sprayed and thrown out of club 301, Then breaking the window of a truck in the parking lot before getting into an SUV and firing shots at the club.

49-year-old Maribel Sanchez-Garza was hit and killed.

Detectives found a gun and bloody clothes at Glidden's home.

He's charged with second degree murder.


A woman is dead after a shooting at a club on Highway 301.

Just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, police respond to a shooting that occurred at Club 301, located at 8222 US Hwy 301 North. The suspect, possibly traveling in an SUV, fired in the direction of the nightclub and a woman was struck by a bullet.

The woman, later identified as Maribel Sanchez-Garza, was pronounced dead at the scene.

All lanes of US Hwy 301 are now open.
