Weighing 30 lbs., Chunky Monkey awaits new home

Wesley Chapel, Florida -- They call him Chunky Monkey. He's a tabby cat waiting to be adopted that lives up to the title of fat cat.

Weighing 30 lbs., he was turned over to Pets Unconditionally Rescued and Rehomed (PURR) when his owners discovered they didn't have enough room for him and his sister at their new home.

The five-year-old is definitely not fit enough to climb any trees, so his potential new owners would need to help him get some exercise to get him back in tip top shape.

"He does like to be a lap cat. We're looking for someone who doesn't mind a dent on their legs," laughs PURR director Linda Heinz.

Believe it or not, Chunky Monkey is not the fattest cat PURR has taken in. A coon cat tipping the scales at 38 lbs. was the largest they've rescued.
