Winter Haven Police Dept looking for two robbers

WINTER HAVEN, FLA. -- A 21-year-old Winter Haven man is behind bars and Police are looking for two other men after an armed robbery occurred today in broad daylight.

Winter Haven Police quickly apprehended 21-year-old Deontae Neal after he approached the victim with a firearm demanding money and fleeing with cash, a cell phone and identification cards.

Earlier today, Friday, at approximately 1:20 pm, the victim, 21-year-old Marc Rodney, was in front if his residence when a vehicle pulled up. A male identified as 23-year-old Jamario Harvey approached Rodney and asked him if he wanted to gamble. The pair went across the street to a vacant house and began gambling.

The driver, 24-year-old Carlos A. Leondre, parked on the street across from the location and passenger Deontae Neal exited the vehicle. Neal approached the pair, but turned back towards the vehicle like he was going to leave. Moments later Neal turned back around and put a gun to the victim's, Rodney's, head and demanded money.

Rodney, fearing for his life, put his hands in the air and Neal went through his pockets taking all of the contents, including cash, personal identification and his cell phone. Rodney was able to flee to safety and contact police.

Officers arrived on the scene and quickly located a vehicle in the area matching the description of the one that Neal was seen in prior to the incident. Officers conducted a lawful traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver and passenger, Neal, ran from the area.

Police located Neal hiding in a shed in the 400 block of Ave N., NE. The victim's identification was found inside of the vehicle that Neal fled from. Money and the victim's cell phone were located under a bucket inside of the shed where Neal was found. A gun was located on the roof of the same shed. The driver of the vehicle was not located.

Neal was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery, Armed Burglary, Possession of a Firearm By Convicted Felon, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.

Police are asking for the public's help to locate 23-year-old Jamario Harvey and 24-year-old Carlos A. Leondre.
