A man urinated over cases of beer at a convenience store after he said he couldn't find the bathroom, Treasure Island police said.
According to an affidavit, on Saturday night, Daniel Colon, 46, 4714 S. Trask St., Tampa, walked into 7-Eleven, 9695 Gulf Blvd., and entered the walk-in cooler, ignoring a sign that said "Employees Only." He then proceeded to urinate on six cases of Busch Light beer, making then unable to be sold.
The value of the beer was $96.24, the affidavit said.
An employee behind the counter saw Colon enter the cooler and went to see what he was doing, and witnessed him peeing on the beer, the affidavit said. She told him to stop and he left the store.
Colon then got into a vehicle, and he was pulled over by a police officer about half an hour later, police said. He failed field sobriety tests, and he was arrested.
After being read his rights, he told police he had gone into the cooler because he couldn't find the bathroom, the affidavit said.
Colon has been charged with DUI, criminal mischief and burglary of an unoccupied structure. Bail was set at $3,250.
