PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- A post on Facebook that is making its way across the region has a Pinellas County man searching for the owner of a lost U.S. flag.
"I'm thinking it might very well be important to somebody," said Ted Froberg.
Because of the way the flag was folded, Froberg guesses that it may belong to the family of a deceased veteran.
"I think back to when I was 11-years-old and my father passed away, my mother was presented with a flag because he served in the war," Froberg said.
Froberg said that he found the stars and stripes while driving on U.S. Highway 19 in Clearwater on Saturday. The flag was discovered on the shoulder of an overpass, so Froberg stopped his vehicle to pick up the flag.
The flag was neatly folded and not wet, leading Froberg to write that the flag was not on the ground for long, taking into account the heavy rains from Hurricane Hermine.
"I have put my hands on it and I said I'm going to find your home, I promise, so I'm going to do my best," Froberg said.
Let's help Froberg out by sharing this post on our feeds and finding the rightful owner of this flag.
