Safety Harbor, Florida - The teenager whose leg was severed by a suspected drunk driver has another surgery scheduled for Friday and his family is worried about his survival.

19-year-old Andrew Hall was hit by a car in Safety Harbor early Monday morning, while he was standing outside his Main Street apartment.

Investigators believe the accident was alcohol related, but so far there have been no arrests.

Members of Hall's adoptive family were too upset to speak on camera, but they told 10 Connects that Andrew has always been a fighter. Even with cerebral palsy, the teen was active in a variety of sports.

Hall's landlord Persa Tapalaga describes him as a "great kid" and hopes he'll recover. "This was a tragedy," she says shaking her head.

Hall's family is setting up a fund to help pay for his continued care. Once details on that are finalized we'll post that information here.
