St. Petersburg man badly burned in house fire

St. Petersburg, Florida - A 51-year-old St. Petersburg man was listed in critical condition Sunday night after firefighters pulled him out of his burning home Sunday morning. His home is  is located at 4810 6th Avenue North.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly and found him on the floor unconscious in the back bedroom. He suffered first and second degree burns and is being treated at the burn unit at Tampa General Hospital.

Fire investigators say the cause of the fire appears to be accidental and there were no working smoke detectors in his home.

Fire Inspectors from the St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the fire.
