The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says one person is dead after she was struck while trying to cross the road.
It happened a little before 11pm Thursday night. Deputies say a car traveling eastbound on Bloomingdale Ave. in Brandon, struck and killed the pedestrian trying to cross near the Patterson Rd. intersection.
Deputies have identified the victim as 72 year-old Julia Jacobson.
No charges will be filed. Investigators say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
