UPDATE: Bubba speaks with 10 Connects News on Haiti remarks

Tampa, Florida - Shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge has come under fire over comments about Haiti on his radio show and Twitter page.

Last Thursday morning Bubba said, "Maybe half a million Haitians that will end up not being around tomorrow... it's a cleanse."

He also mentioned 10 Connects Reporter Melanie Brooks multiple times saying, "I would rather see Melanie Brooks telling me about the Pasco County school lunch menu right now than looking at Katie Couric on a cellphone and Haiti."

On Bubba's Twitter page he went so far as to say "f*** Haiti."

On Monday, Bubba apologized via Twitter.  "Sometimes u say things that u can't take back. So I'm man enough now to say I'm sorry for those I offended," wrote Bubba.
