Haines City, Florida - Polk County deputies have arrested three people in connection with a murder investigation. Police say the remains of 17-year-old Angelia Michelle Headrick were found in a charred car last Friday in an orange grove in Babson Park.
Arrested are: 20-year-old Eric Rodriguez, 29-year-old Gary Glisson, and 23-year-old Jarvis Mosley. All three are charged with robbery and first degree murder. Glisson and Mosley also face arson charges.
Investigators say the three suspects have confessed to robbing the 90 pound girl, stabbing her to death and then putting her body in her car and setting it on fire.
According to statements made by the suspects, Headrick was lured to Glisson's home on Wednesday, January 3. The four then traveled to a grove off of Masterpiece Road in Lake Wales, where she was beaten and stabbed to death during the late evening and early morning hours.
Her body was placed in her vehicle and the three suspects traveled back to Glisson's residence. They hid the vehicle, with the body inside, in a grove across from Glisson's residence for a short time Thursday.
Rodriguez left the residence as Glisson and Mosley planned how to dispose of the car and body.
Later that Thursday, Glisson drove Headrick's vehicle as Mosley followed in a second vehicle, to an orange grove off of Drawdy Road, Babson Park where the vehicle was set on fire.
A grove worker had seen the fire that afternoon, but thought it was other grove workers clearing downed trees. The same worker found the charred out vehicle the next day and reported his discovery to the Sheriff's Office.
Detectives determined that human remains were in the trunk of the burned vehicle. A medical examiner later confirmed the remains were of Angelia Headrick.
Headrick allegedly had a reputation for dealing drugs. Investigators say the suspects made off with cash and drugs.
