'Let Malia live': Chelsea Clinton, Ivanka Trump defend Malia Obama on Twitter

Leave Malia Obama alone!

That was the sentiment felt on Twitter Friday as a video of the former first daughter appearing to smoke circulated the Internet. In the clip, it looks like the 19-year-old first-year Harvard student is blowing smoke rings in a bathroom. She was also reportedly spotted kissing someone during a tailgate.

Another former resident of the White House, Chelsea Clinton, was one of many to come to the young co-ed's defense.

"Malia Obama’s private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait," she tweeted. "Be better."

Ivanka Trump said, "Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as her school aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits."

Rapper-actor Common requested people "Let Malia live."

One user pointed out another famous smoker — Barack Obama — made it all the way to the Oval Office.

Some felt the need to put into perspective the appearance of Malia smoking.

Many were disgruntled with Malia's so-called friends, who some thought leaked the video.

Others alluded to scandals that have plagued President Trump and his family.
