ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - With the Florida GOP Primary just days away, you can expect a major push from the candidates for your vote.
Presidential candidates have until Tuesday to convince you they deserve your vote. The race here in the Sunshine State is neck and neck going into the primary.
"It's going to be a big push for what may arguably may be the most important state in the GOP primary race," says Frank Alcock, a political analyst.
It's already been a heated campaign season. Through 19 debates, it's been fight after fight -- something some voters would like to see less of. "I would love to see a debate about the real issues without name calling, without calling the president bad names, and some overall restructuring of the issues," says Chris Steinocher.
David Eaton says, "I think it's a fight, a personal fight, between them. It's a matter of who can sound as extreme right as the next guy."
A lot is at stake here in Florida; the winner takes all 50 of Florida's delegates. Political analyst Frank Alcock says because sections of the state have different beliefs, a win could mean bigger things.
"It's representative if you do well in Florida...in a way it showcases that you can do well broadly throughout the country."
But to get that win, voters like Billy Lucho want to hear the candidates talk about the issues. "There's still a lot of issues with the economy right now in America. It's not getting any better."
Alcock says he's continually surprised by the volatility of this race and expects nothing less come Tuesday. "Early on, a month ago, Gingrich was way up, then Romney was way up and then Gingrich was back and it's tightening. I'm going to be paying very close attention to the last polls that are coming in over the last day or two."
Alcock says he doesn't believe Rick Santorum or Ron Paul will drop out after Florida. He says if Gingrich falters, it makes sense for Santorum to hang in through Super Tuesday to see if he can be the "anti-Romney."
Alcock says Paul will continue to get his message out and push his movement.
