Twenty first-graders were killed at their school in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza allegedly broke into the premises and opened fire. Six adults were killed in the attacks, and Lanza's mother was also shot dead in her bed not long beforehand. Upon the entrance of the cops at Sandy Hook Elementary, Lanza is believed to have turned the gun on himself.
