PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback has apologized to GOP rival Mitt Romney for a disparaging e-mail remark that a campaign aide sent to Iowa GOP leaders, and Romney says he has accepted the Kansas senator's apology.

Romney is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He attended a reception in Panama City yesterday that drew about 250 people.

Brownback's campaign had earlier disclosed that a field director in Iowa had been reprimanded for violating campaign policy.

The field director had forwarded an e-mail that said in part — quote: "the LDS Jesus is not the same Jesus of the Christian faith."
