Tampa, Florida - 10 News Anchor Tammie Fields hosted a news and weather reporting workshop during the 29th Annual Statewide Brain Bowl Competitions and Florida National Achievers Summit on Saturday morning.
In front of a packed room at the Sheraton Tampa East Hotel, Fields spoke to several dozen students about the importance of reading, writing, listening, and speaking well in front of a crowd.
She showed off the 10 News revamped website and talked about how she and her colleagues cover stories across the Tampa Bay area.
Several students and some of their parents asked questions during the workshop that was for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grader from across the state of Florida.
Organizers say the goal of the Brain Bowl and NAS Summit is to bring students from across Florida to celebrate academic success and develop critically important leadership skills. They add that the Brain Bowl is meant to improve reading, math, and writing skills while also fostering respect and pride for academic achievement.
