Gov. Scott appoints Charles D Hood Jr. to the Judicial Circuit

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of State Representative Charles "Dave" Hood, Jr. to the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Representative Hood 60, of Daytona Beach Shores, is currently the State Representative for District 25, covering a portion of Volusia County, and is a partner with the law firm Smith, Hood, Loucks, Stout, Bigman & Brock, where he has practiced since 1988. He previously practiced with the Cobb Cole firm from 1978-1988. Representative Hood served as the Mayor of Ormond Beach from 1997-1999 and as City Commissioner from 1992-1997. Representative Hood received his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of South Carolina.

Governor Rick Scott said, "Representative Hood's leadership and dedicated service to the families of his district combined with his decades of practicing law will make him a great addition to the Seventh Judicial Circuit bench. I am proud to appoint Dave Hood today with confidence that he will continue to his service to Florida with a keen sense of justice and compassion."
