Gov. Scott highlights crime proposals in Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- Governor Rick Scott was out campaigning in Tampa Monday morning, kicking off his "Let's Keep Florida Safe Tour." He's highlighting what he calls his commitment to fighting crime.

The governor stopped by Patrick's Uniforms, where they supply clothes for law enforcement and public safety employees.

Governor Scott is announcing new proposals that would -- among other things -- oppose changes to Florida's 85 percent mandatory minimum law. That requires inmates to serve at least 85 percent of their sentences before they can be released on good behavior.

The governor's plan also calls for developing programs that pick up on early risk signs in troubled kids.
