Tallahassee, Florida (Tallahassee Democrat) -- Gov. Rick Scott and former Gov. Charlie Crist have agreed to debate Oct. 15 at Broward College's main campus in Davie.
The one-hour debate will be produced by WFOR-TV/CBS 4, the Miami-Dade/Broward counties' CBS affiliate, and broadcast live 7-8 p.m. hrough a "Before You Vote" network of broadcasters in Florida's 11 media markets. It will also be broadcast on Florida's public radio stations.
Elliott Rodriguez, anchor at CBS 4, will moderate. Panelists include Rosemary Goudreau, editorial page editor of the Sun Sentinel, and Matt Walsh, editor and CEO of Observer Media Group. Serving on the social-media panel will be Bob Gabordi, executive editor of the Tallahassee Democrat, Manny Garcia, editor of the Naples Daily News, and Jeremy Wallace, political reporter for the Herald-Tribune. The panel will engage Floridians with commentary throughout the debate on Twitter and Facebook.
The debate's sponsors are Broward College, the Florida Association of Insurance Agents/Trusted Choice, AARP, the Florida League of Cities, the Claude Pepper Foundation, and Florida Credit Unions.
Leadership Florida and the Florida Press Association announced the debate today.
