Tampa, Florida - NHL owners will meet in New York Wednesday to vote on the tentative labor agreement reached with the union. If the majority approves, we will be one step closer to the start of the season. But the Lightning has already taken that step.
If there are no snags, ratification could be finished by Saturday and training camps can open on Sunday.
A 48-game regular season would then be expected to begin on January 19, and the Lightning is ready! Crews built the the ice Tuesday to get ready for the season.
They did the white painting, laid out all the lines and the logos. They laid out the circles, the hashmarks and the goal crease. It takes about 18 hours to lay it all out and get it sealed in. Then they'll be flooding around the clock until Friday morning.
The Lightning and the Tampa Bay Times Forum will hold a part-time job fair Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. It will take place on the Promenade Level of the arena.
Positions are available in guest services, security, housekeeping, concessions and retail for the upcoming season and other Forum events
If you want to apply, you need to first complete an application online. You will then be told about a meeting based on your interests and department manager availability.
