Tampa, Florida -- Based on courtroom testimony and police records 64-year-old Phil Campbell was at Mallio's Wednesday night for a drink with another one of Todd "MJ" Schnitt's attorneys when he met 30-year-old Melissa Personius.

It's unclear how much Campbell and Personius drank together, but the allegation is that she was told by someone working with Bubba the Love Sponge Clem's legal team to get him drunk.

Campbell has been the lead attorney for MJ in his defamation lawsuit against Bubba.

"She lied to Mr. Campbell when ... asked where she worked," charged MJ attorney Jonathan Ellis in court Friday morning.

"She bought him drinks, she specifically asked him to move her car and we believe that she or had somebody else call Tampa police to have Mr. Campbell pulled over," he added.

For nearly five years, Personius has worked as a legal assistant for Adams and Diaco, the firm representing Bubba.

The 30-year-old has a criminal record that includes a DUI arrest in 2009 and an arrest in 2011 for driving with a revoked license. Records also show she's been involved in multiple accidents.

On the stand Friday afternoon, Personius refused to answer a host of questions including what her cell number is, who her phone carrier is and if she instructed by someone at Adams and Diaco to buy Campbell drinks.

"I invoke the Fifth Amendment," Personius said in response to a number of questions.

But even if Personius did tell Campbell the truth about who she worked for, the state bar doesn't forbid such social interactions during an ongoing court case, says local attorney Blaire Clarke.

"Despite some of the things we might be seeing in this trial that may or may not be going on, there's mutual respect generally and it's not uncommon for the people on either side to be friends."

The civil trial involving MJ and Bubba resumes on Monday morning.
