Road kill claims 16th Florida panther death this year

(News-Press.com) - A young female Florida panther was euthanized Thursday after being hit by a vehicle near the entrance to Collier Seminole State Park in Collier County.

The panther was uncollared, and biologists think she was 1 to 2 years old.

This is the 16th recorded panther death this year. Eleven of those mortalities were due to road kill.
