Road rage leads to Pasco Walmart parking lot shooting

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- A road rage incident Sunday night escalated into gunfire when an unknown suspect fired a shotgun at another vehicle at the Walmart on State Road 54 in Land O'Lakes around 10:50 p.m.

John Everitt, 26, and another victim, Kandace Skaff, 28, were driving along SR-54 behind the suspect's vehicle when the suspect allegedly brake checked Everitt's vehicle twice. Both vehicles then turned off SR-54 into the Walmart parking lot.

The suspect pulled over, took out a shotgun and fired. He then turned and fled the area west toward Dale Mabry Highway.

Everitt suffered a minor injury when he was struck by shrapnel on his right arm. He refused treatment at the scene and was released.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a dark colored sport utility vehicle with a luggage rack.
