"Smokies Strong" t-shirts raise money for wildfire victims

Due to an influx of demand right now, it appears the website has crashed. The shirt provider is restarting the website and we hope to have it back up and running in an hour or so.

One of the biggest questions we've heard in the aftermath of the fires in Sevier County this week is how to help.

Here's a way to support the fire victims and show your love for East Tennessee mountains with the new Smokies Strong t-shirts.

WBIR is teaming up with Bacon and Company and the Knoxville News Sentinel to support the effort.

The charcoal gray shirts are $15 each and  feature an image of Tennessee, the Smoky Mountains, a heart, and the “Smokies Strong” message.

They are available in adult and youth sizes, and all the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for relief efforts. You can buy them in the WBIR General Store.

WBIR will also host a 30-minute special Wednesday night at 7 p.m. also called Smokies Strong that will raise money for the American Red Cross, followed by a special about Dolly Parton's movie, Christmas of Many Colors.  Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy will air starting at 2:07 a.m.

Here are more ways to help.
