St. Pete Police: Man did $80K in damage to cars

Surveillance video shows a man who did thousands of dollars in damage to cars in a parking garage.

St. Petersburg Police said they have arrested a man who caused more than $80,000 in damage to cars recently.

According to police, early on Nov. 7, Donovan David Alan Franklin, 18, broke into the parking garage and proceeded to break into two cars at the McNulty Lofts Condos, 175 2nd St. S. He also damaged two other very expensive cars parked nearby, with the damage to those cars estimated to be in excess of $80,000.

Video surveillance of the scene helped identify Franklin, who was arrested Monday. He was charged with commercial burglary, two counts of felony criminal mischief, two counts of vehicle burglary, and one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief.

Bail was set at $19,150.
