Lake Kathryn, Florida - Jason Wheeler, the man who shot three deputies Wednesday, killing one, has been caught. This happened after deptuies responded to a reported domestic battery in the Ocala National Forest.
Sheriff’s Captain Nick Pallitto told Orlando media that Deputy Wayne Koester died after being taken to the hospital. Deputies Tom McKane and Bill Crotty were each shot in the leg and are undergoing treatment at a hospital. Orange County spokesman Steve Triggs says deputy Crotty is the brother of Orange County Mayor Richard Crotty.
Jason Wheeler's girlfriend told deputies that Wheeler had an arsenal of weapons and that his property might be booby-trapped.
More than 100 deputies and officers from four different law enforcement agencies looked for the suspect.
