Tampa, Florida - Around 50 hurricane victims are getting relief in the Bay area. A military aircraft arrived at Tampa International Airport from New Orleans at around 11:00 pm Saturday night.
A 130 emergency workers waited hours for the plane to arrive. It was supposed to land at 10:00 Saturday morning. There was a problem finding a flight crew, because people had been flying numerous hours.
Once emergency workers access their patients, they’ll be taken to area hospitals. There are 300 beds available in Hillsborough County. The American Red Cross is also offering shelter for relatives of the patients.
Two more flights are expected to arrive at Tampa International Airport on Sunday.
