The man accused of taking hostages during a bank robbery in Jacksonville on Thursday has been identified as a Tampa man.
Jacksonville officials said Nicholas Daquan Humphries, 23, held 13 people inside the Community First Credit Union for two hours after he tried and failed to rob the business. The situation ended peacefully when the hostages were released and Humphries surrendered.
He's been charged with 13 counts of kidnapping, one count of armed robbery and one count of theft of a motor vehicle. His bond hearing will be held Friday morning.
According to Hillsborough County jail records, Humphrey was arrested on a charge of domestic battery in February. Court records show, however, that the charge was dismissed.
He was employed then as a technician at Florida Hospital.
