Tampa fire displaces four families

TAMPA -- An overnight fire gutted a townhome complex at 3913 W. Sligh Avenue and forced four families from their homes.

There were no injuries reported in the blaze, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

After the 911 call was placed around 3:15 a.m., firefighters arrived at the scene to see heavy smoke and fire coming one unit. It took nearly an hour for HCFR to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.

HCFR reported that all four units received damage because of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the four families.
