Teens lure man to residence through Craigslist ad, rob him

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.-- Five people are under arrest after luring a man into a residence and robbing him in response to a Craigslist repair ad.

One of the five suspects contacted the victim to get an estimate for repair work. When the victim arrived at the residence, he was greeted by two female suspects, ages 15 and 16, and a male suspect, who forcibly took the man's wallet, keys, cell phone and fled in his Chevy Cruze.

Minutes later, Hillsborough Police received a call of a robbery and a carjacking. While en route to the scene, deputies saw the stolen vehicle near the area of Big Bend Rd and I-75. Police attempted to stop the vehicle which fled southbound on I-75. After exiting Sun City Center, the vehicle became disabled when it ran over a raised concrete storm drain in the Cypress Creek area. Three suspects in the vehicle ran and all were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

Two other male suspects were arrested they are identified as Javier Lopez, 18 and Keenard Malik Wells, 19.

The victim and a witness were able to identify the suspects as the teens who committed the offense.
