Pinellas Park, Florida -- The brother of terror suspect Sami Osmakac tells 10 News his brother is innocent. While not wanting to reveal his own name the man said what the FBI is saying about his brother "is all false."
The man spoke to 10 News at both the family's home in Pinellas Park and again at the family's bakery in St. Petersburg.
Federal authorities claim Osmakac wanted to kill Americans as part of a terror plot that would have included a car bomb, taking hostages and potentially blowing up multiple buildings.
Online, Osmakac can be seen in videos using the name brother "Abdul Samia" talking about Islam. In fact, officials say Osmakac uses as many as six different aliases.
Another video online also shows an altercation that Osmakac was involved in last April outside the Tampa Bay Times Forum before a Lady Gaga concert. Osmakac was arrested shortly after the incident for allegedly head butting a man. Both men were later arrested.
A naturalized U.S. citizen from the former Yugoslavia, Osmakac lived with his family at a home on 116th Ave. North in Pinellas Park. Neighbors say the family keeps to themselves, but says they never suspected anything like what the 25-year-old is now accused of.
"Shocked, surprised and scared for my life and my family, because we're just a house away from them," said neighbor Lisa Le.
"What's ironic is we have a Pinellas Park police officer that lives right next door," added neighbor Bill Garrett Jr.
