This Mother's Day, I wanted to do something special for everyone whose Moms are no longer alive. I lost my mom more than a decade ago, and particularly in the beginning, it was very tough to deal with Mother's Day. I was sure others felt the same way and reached out to our viewers via Facebook.
In addition to being the Senior Investigative Reporter here at WTSP, I am also a songwriter. I wrote the song and put together the above video that shows pictures viewers sent us.
I want it to honor those moms who are no longer with us, but still alive in our hearts.

My mom's name was Jeanne Bowlus. She was only 62 when she died last year on 12/4/10 and was born on 11/24/48. She was a nurse and an extremely important person in my life as well as the lives of her patients.

Attached is a picture of my wonderful mother whom I lost in December 1999. I was 14 I actually took the time to edit the picture and it has her date of birth and date of death on it!

Hi Mike,
Please include my mom in your memorial. She passed away in December after a 3 year battle with kidney cancer. There hasn't been a day since that I don't wish I could call and talk with her.

I saw the Channel 10 post about the special you are doing about honoring mothers for Mother's Day. I have attached a picture of my Mother. Her name was Myrna Rosa Santana. She was born in San Juan Puerto Rico, October 1, 1942. She passed away from cancer May 2, 2009. She was and still is my inspiration. I would be eternally grateful if you would include her in your special as I will never find enough ways in my life to honor her.

My mother's name is Juanita Bembry Brannen. She was born in 1939 and died in 1991.

I think it's wonderful that you are doing a story to honor Mom's who have passed. I lost my mom nearly 10 years ago, and it's still such a hard day to get thru. My Mom raised 8 kids almost single handedly, and she was just an incredible woman. I didn't realize until I was an adult just how strong she was, or how much she sacrificed for her kids. I think of her and miss her every day. Her name was Barbara M. Mockler. She was born on July 18, 1928, and she died May 26, 2002. The picture I attached is of my Grandma, my Mom and I. If you need one of just her, I can send it. Again, thank you for doing this story.
