Surveillance video shows two teenagers who police believe started a house fire in St. Petersburg on May 6.
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (AP) - Two teens are suspects in a fire that destroyed a home in St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg police on Monday asked anyone with information about the May 6 fire to contact them.
The Tampa Bay Times reports Jessica Ryan heard a popping noise around 5 a.m. and got up to look outside. She noticed a glow outside the window and saw the carport was on fire. She told police the popping continued as aerosol cans exploded. Flames ripped through the walls near where her 6-year-old daughter was sleeping. The family, including husband Richard, made it safely outside.
Police say they believe the teens also broke into the Ryan's two vehicles.
Police spokesman Mike Puetz says two teens were captured on surveillance video at a nearby 24-hour laundry early that morning.
