St. Petersburg, Florida - Kevin Lawya's house looks like any other on the block on 15th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. 

The lights are on, there's letters in the mailbox and it looks like it has for the past decade. But, the fact is, there's a mystery behind the doors of Lawya's home.

The 56-year-old property manager has disappeared without a trace, and police believe something sinister has happened.

Sam Bohn lives next door. "I met somebody Friday, came over and asked if we had seen him and said that he hadn't been to work and that he normally returns his cell phone calls and shows up for work on time," said Bohn.

Lawya's neighbor says Kevin was home last Thursday night. In fact, Kevin is the type of guy, neighbors say, who has a set schedule. He has an elderly dog that he takes special care of, even coming home each day during a lunch break to walk the dog.

It wasn't like Kevin Lawya to go missing. But, last Friday morning, his car was gone and his co-workers showed up to look for him.

Bohn told 10 News, "I went up with them and pounded on the door, tried to see if he was in there. Hollered his name and listened with our ear against the window to see if we could hear anything."

Kevin works at the Brittany Point condos, a high end complex just off the Pinellas Bayway. Although managers would not comment on camera, employees called St. Pete police extremely concerned last week when the 56-year-old didn't show up for work.

His home remained untouched inside.

Police spokesperson Bill Proffitt said, "Nothing appeared amiss. The dog was still inside, but no signs of forced entry, a crime didn't look like it had taken place. Still a mystery."

Employees were right to be concerned.

Five days later, Kevin's Toyota Tacoma truck was found in South St. Pete, just off of I -275. Detectives say what they found inside his truck gave them grave concern for Kevin's safety and well being.

They believe he is in danger.

Bohn said, "You're always surprised to find somebody's gone, especially like that."
