TAMPA, Fla. - It was supposed to be a guys' day out on the water, a celebration of an upcoming engagement, but it turned tragic for a father and his two sons. They all died in a boating crash that happened in New York at Sylvan Beach along the Oneida Lake.
Anthony Aceto, 66, and his sons -- 41-year-old Stephen Aceto of Tampa and 33-year-old Timothy Aceto -- were all killed.
Anthony's wife says they knew the lake "like the back of their hand" and had turned to look at fireworks when they somehow slammed into a cement channel marker Thursday night.
Their boat sank in about 15 feet of water, five to six miles away from the shore. Police say none of them were wearing life jackets.
