SPRING HILL, Florida -- A man is in custody tonight after deputies say he barricaded himself in a home in Spring Hill.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, the unidentified man made threats to himself but not the public.

Surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution. A SWAT team entered the home at 9:15 a.m. and found no one inside.

Authorities say the man was able to exit the home before a perimeter could be secured. He was taken into custody at a 7-Eleven convenience store on County Line Road at U.S. 19 in Pasco County.

No one was injured.
