New York, NY (Sports Network) - The NHL announced Thursday the cancellation of the 2012-13 regular-season schedule through Oct. 24.
There are four Tampa Bay Lightning games affected, including three at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Cancelled home games include:
- Tuesday, October 16 vs. New York Islanders
- Friday, October 19 vs. Florida Panthers
- Tuesday, October 23 vs. New York Rangers.
The cancellation of the games was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL.
