Riverview, Florida -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a 10-year-old girl with Down Syndrome who wandered away from her middle school Monday.
Authorities say Jennifer Caballero was last seen walking away from Rodgers Middle School campus around 1 p.m. She has very limited verbal skills, but does speak some Spanish and answers to the name of "Jenny."
She is described as 5 feet tall and 90 pounds with a small build, black hair with pigtails. She was last seen wearing turquoise shirt with pink flowers and black pants.
Deputies and K-9 units are on the ground and a helicopter unit is currently searching for Jennifer.
Jenny's mother is on a bullhorn calling out to her, as she says the child likes to hide from strangers and likely won't come out, even if it's someone trying to help her.
Anyone who may have seen her or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
