Tampa, Florida -- Hundreds of bicyclists -- amateur and professional alike -- will be barreling through downtown Tampa this weekend at speeds of 40 mph at the fifth annual Cigar City Criterium.

Racers from across the country will take part in the races Saturday--short, urban, high-speed races known in the cycling circles as a "crit."

The races will be held in and around Lykes Gaslight Square Park on Franklin Street in downtown Tampa from 8:00am-9:00pm.  The amateurs will race until 2:00pm and pros will take over after 4:00.

While the athletes are competing, a street festival will be going on--along with a 3k foot  face and a health and wellness expo.  There will also be a special "Rock the Crit!" music festival at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

The events are free, but VIP tickets at the start/finish line are available.  You can buy tickets and learn more about the event at http://tampacrit.com/.
